■ Policy Dialogue for Constitution Building Practitioners

Jointly organised by International IDEA and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the Policy Dialogue for Constitution building practitioners focused, inter alia, on the following questions: How do economic policy choices relate to constitution building? How have economic reform initiatives influenced constitution building processes? What roles were played by economic actors within and outside national constitution building processes to shape constitutional choices and with what consequences? How can this knowledge contribute to reducing the gap between policy and practice? What general or specific insights can be offered to deepen understanding of how external actors can meaningfully work together to support the strengthening of constitutional governance through constitution building?
