Timor Leste’s former Minister of Finance, Fernanda Borges sits down with International IDEA to discuss the role, influence and relevance of international involvement in East Timor’s post conflict constitution building process. She also shares her perspectives on some of the nuances between providing international assistance and determining the content of the document. The interview was granted on the sidelines of a Dialogue for Constitution Building Practitioners organised by International IDEA and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Pretoria, South Africa in March 2011 on the theme Constitution Building and the Dynamics of Economic Change.
