Ecuador: Correa Backs Constitutional Reform for Re-Election
<p>Ecuador’s President Rafael Correa said he backed a reform of the Constitution that will allow a president to run for more than two terms in office.</p><p>“We are not talking about an indefinite confirmation, but a general re-election. I object to those who want to condition this debate. We want that the people of Ecuador choose at the polls who they want as president. Without limitations”, said Correa.</p><p>He insisted that asll nations have the right to seek solutions that correspond to the nation’s needs. Correa did not exclude the possibility of a referendum on the issue.</p>
