<p>The Centre has fast-tracked the process to set up a judicial commission to replace the collegium system for the selection of judges. The President has cleared the Constitution Amendment Bill for the creation of a judicial commission.</p><p><br><br>Sources say the Constitution Amendment Bill is likely to come up in Parliament in the ongoing session and that there is near unanimity among political parties for replacing the collegium.</p><p><br><br>Sources say the government is awaiting a response from the Congress and the AIADMK. <br>This development comes days after Press Council of India Chairman Justice Markandey Katju raised allegations of corruption within the judiciary.</p>
