Kenya: Petition to merge four initiatives for a referendum to amend constitution

<p>A petition to merge four initiatives has been presented to the National Assembly.&nbsp;<span style="line-height: 20.4px;">They are the Okoa Kenya, Boresha Maisha, Pesa Mashinani and Punguza Mzigo.</span></p><p>The petition is signed by Maj (Rtd) Joel Kiprono Rop, a resident of Kericho county.&nbsp;<span style="line-height: 20.4px;">The petitioner wants Parliament to draft a bill to consolidate the four referendums.&nbsp;</span><span style="line-height: 20.4px;">“He wants Parliament to publish a bill which incorporates all the constitutional amendments being proposed by various individuals, civil society groups, political parties and organisations...” Speaker Justin Muturi told MPs.</span></p>
