Philippines: Determined Erice pushes for Constitutional Convention after 2016 to overhaul Constitution

<p>Unfazed by recent survey results showing three in five Filipinos are against Charter Change, Liberal Party (LP) stalwart and Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice on Sunday floated the idea of holding a constitutional convention after the 2016 national elections to debate on possible amendments to Constitution.</p><p><br><br>Erice said he is mulling filing a bill calling for a con-con after the 2016 polls because he believes the time is right to review the 1987 Constitution. The delegates will have at least three years to debate on the proposed amendments.</p>
