Romania's ConCourt upholds law banning people with convictions from serving as ministers

On Thursday, 4 May 2017, Romania's Constitutional Court issued a judgment upholding the country's anti-corruption law preventing people with convictions from serving as ministers. As an outcome of the ruling the controversial Liviu Dragnea, chairman of the Social Democratic Party who was convicted last year for vote rigging, will be prevented from running for an office of prime minister.
