Sri Lanka: Tamil Civil Society Seeks International Participation in Constitution Making

<p>The Jaffna-based Tamil Civil Society Forum (TCSF), which is a member of the Tamil Peoples’ Council (TPC) led by Northern Province Chief Minister C.V.Wigneswaran, has demanded international participation in the on-going process of drafting a new constitution for Sri Lanka.</p><p>In its submission to the Public Representation Committee (PRC) in Jaffna on Tuesday, the TCSF expressed the apprehension that the new constitution will be one “of the majority, by the majority, for the majority,” – the “majority” being the Sinhalese-Buddhist community.</p>
