Sudan's president says the new constitution will be finalized within a year's time

Omar al-Bashir, the Sudanese President, said that the National Committee for Drafting the Permanent Constitution will complete its works within a year's time. The Committee will hold broad consultations will all relevant state institutions. He also emphasized that participation of over 100 political parties in the upcoming government will allow for creation of the largest parliament in the history of Sudan which will be representative enough to draft a constitution.
