List
A body responsible for collecting and reviewing proposed drafts and recommendations to be considered in the development of a new constitution. A Constitutional Commission may take ideas from political parties, government officials, and non-governmental organizations, but may also focus on civic education and public consultation in order to access the broadest possible range of ideas and opinions. Often the Constitutional Commission's work will culminate with the incorporation of collected ideas into recommendations for or a draft of a new constitution.

South Sudan President under fire over new constitutional review body

South Sudan’s President, Salva Kirr, is coming under fire since issuing a decree constituting a 45 - member National Constitutional Review Commission on January 9.  The Commission, which is tasked with writing a permanent Constitution to replace the interim Charter, is made up of part time and permanent members.
