Constitutionalising Economic Issues: Lessons from Bolivia

Former Minister of Economic Planning and Member of the 2008 Bolivian Constituent Assembly, Mr Samuel Doria Media sits down with International IDEA to talk about the economic drivers of Bolivia’s 2008 constitution building process. He shares perspectives on lessons learnt and what similar processes can take home from the Bolivian experience. The interview was granted on the sidelines of a Dialogue for Constitution Building Practitioners organised by International IDEA and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Pretoria, South Africa in March 2011 on the theme Constitution Building and the Dynamics of Economic Change.
