Preliminary Submission of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) regarding Separation of Powers

This document displays the argument of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) in support of separation of the powers. For the ACDP, the separation of power will ensure legislative accountability, fluidity, and a greater executive stability. Moreover, the eparation of power will also allow for more effective government, especially in a multi-party system. ACDP suggests that these powers should not be completely separate, but should band together through a system of checks and balances such as executive having the right to veto laws passed by the legislature, and the legislature being able to override the veto with a larger percentage vote by their members.
