Colombia had a number of constitutional assemblies in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, with the last one convening in 1991. Although these assemblies represent extraordinary events in the political life of the country, they are also part of its tradition. Among other aspects this report sets out to elucidate what kinds of events or conflicts that have brought with them constitutional assemblies in Colombia.
