Submission by the Democratic Party to Theme Committee 2, blocks 2 & 3. The submission presents amendments to 1993 Constitution Sections 125 to 143 on provincial legislative authority. It also displays amendments to 1993 Constitution Sections 144 to 154 on provincial executive authority. With reference to 1993 Constitution Sections 160 to 162 on provincial constitutions the Democratic Party suggests several constitutional principles, to be considered for inclusion, that have a bearing on the drafting and adopting of provincial constitutions. The submission also deals with the format of new constitutional text in respect of provincial structures and the adoption of provincial constitutions.
