<p>The Tanzanian government announced the country will hold a referendum on a new constitution in April 2015, a move rejected by the opposition which said it was not included in the drafting process, AFP reported Thursday (October 23rd).</p><p>The opposition claims the draft constitution makes few major changes to the structure of government, and has therefore rejected its calls for a strengthening of the federal system to limit presidential powers.</p><p>"I can confirm April 30th as the date for referendum," said Attorney General Frederick Werema.</p>
