Tanzania: People urged to understand proposed consitution

<p>Morogoro Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Joel Bendera, said it was through understanding the proposed document that citizens would have an informed choice at the time of the referendum, instead of being swayed by the views of people with vested interests.</p><p>The RC was speaking at a function to mark Nyerere Day held at Mzumbe University main campus in Morogoro yesterday. “The proposed constitution has adhered to all basic democratic needs and involved people’s representatives,” he said.</p><p>Elaborating, he said when compared to the 1977 constitution, the proposed one addressed all basic issues needed for the nation’s welfare and therefore the need for the people to take heed of it.</p>
