Libya: Proposal on Draft Constitution as submitted by the committee of February

Libya's February Committee on 4 March unveiled its plan to amend the constitutional declaration and shepherd the country towards a new interim government. The proposal calls for a newly elected "House of Representatives" to replace the General National Congress (GNC), as well as an elected president to serve as head of state. The committee was commissioned last month by congress to look at alternatives in the event a new constitution was not ready by the end of July, according to Libya Herald.
